Jacqui Cooper is a dynamic force on Flinders Island, balancing her time between business management and support work.

At their family home, Jacqui and her partner Jamie offer Farm-stay respite and Day Support, where children and animals—from pigs to donkeys—create a lively and nurturing environment.

Born on Flinders Island, Jacqui returned four years ago and quickly immersed herself in the community through her volunteer roles with the Flinders Island Show Society, Local Food Network, and Open Garden projects.

As Vice President of the Furneaux Collective, Jacqui believes the key to a flourishing future lies in building strong partnerships that preserve the island’s natural beauty while encouraging economic growth and community development.

  • Mel Telfer

    Treasurer of the Furneaux Collective

Mel Telfer is a true island multitasker! Splitting her time between medical admin, dental assisting, farming, and concrete admin, she’s a woman of many hats. A Flinders Islander since 2007, Mel knows a thing or two about island life, having grown up on Kangaroo Island.

She’s a champion for the local community, volunteering as an ambulance officer and even rehabilitating injured birds and raptors.

Mel firmly believes in balancing economic, social, and environmental needs, and through the Furneaux Collective, she’s dedicated to helping the community discover and develop projects that strengthen all three. With Mel, no challenge is too big, no bird too small!
